Summer Stage 08

Summer Stage is an intensive musical theatre day camp for students entering 4th through 8th grade.  Students will study acting, singing, dance, and technical theatre leading up to performances July 11 & 12 at 7pm and July 13 at 2pm.The dates of this summer’s camp are June 16 - July 13. No camp Friday, July 4th. Rehearsal starts at 10 am and students are released at 4pm. Summer Stage students are encouraged to stay after summer stage and attend theatre dance classes. The cost of the four week Willy Wonka Jr. Summer Camp is $275. (About $2.30 an hour)

Tuition is due before the first week of camp with limited scholarships and time payments available.  We can not offer refunds after June 16th.

Journey Through the Genres 08

Learn about genres, musical composition, and theatre all at the same time!  Journey Through the Genres is an original curriculum designed by Michelle Vignery, a veteran actor, teacher, and musician from Salina now working in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This program educates students on various literary genres by creating original scripts. After exploring each genre, participants pick their favorite style and work in small ensemble casts to create an original one-act musical which is rehearsed then performed for an audience.  The dates of this camp are July 7– 25 with performances on the 25 and 26.

Rehearsal starts at 10am and students are released at 4pm. The cost of the three week Journey Through the Genres Summer Camp is $200. (About $2.20 an hour)

Xtreme Sock Puppets II                               

Come and learn simple theater basics and how they apply to puppetry while together rehearsing a group puppet play, complete with original story you help write, scenery you help paint and puppets you help create.  For a finale, we will perform our show for family and friends at the Campbell Plaza stage in downtown Salina.  The prerequisite for this course is Xtreme Puppets I being offered through the Salina Art Center where the puppets will be created.
